Have the equipment examined regularly by a competent person, to ensure it remains safe. Repeat the examination sufficiently often to ensure the equipment remains safe. Ensure that all personnel who operate the equipment are competent to do so. Ensure documentary evidence that the examination has taken place is kept and can be made available if requested.

To ensure that in using any lifting equipment the regulations of LOLER are met. Correct any defects indentified by the competent person Arrange a thorough examination of the forklift trucks following any accidents and at least annually Any immediate threats to a person's health & saftey must be notified to the relevant enforcin authority All the above are over and above the statutory maintenance requirements.
